I want to build one to take to the NOPI and other ricer shows and show them what a real sports car is.

Will need info on what parts to complete the body, and interior treatments.

Also need to know the suspension.

Any good books to use for reference.

The GTR had really wierd, one-off type custom stuff. There are no sources of info on this, unless you befriend a GTR owner.

You're better to replicate the cosmetics and performance, but forget the exact detail replication. Just use aftermarket readily available stuff. That's what I intend to do.

saw a nice weber carb looking throttlebody set .

it had holes for efi injectors and was designed to be run by a haltec unit.

the unit was by ITAC i believe.

the throttle bodies attached to a 8 valve vw engine but with a weber manifold for a 924 na they could be used on our 2.0 na engines.

BTW pegesus racing has dry sump kits / parts designed for custom installs on ford 1.6 and 2.0 engines.

I also found a BMW 2002 tii in a backyard. does it normally come with mechanical injection ? and lastley could it be fitted to the Porsche 924.

Thanks for your time.

got the interior almost stripped and the seats removed and started removing the sound deadener.

would like to know if 944 drip mouldings, winshield trim and 944 style rear bumper would fit the car.

also had a circular set of plates made to weld over the rear sidemarkers holes.

I will rewire that circuit to the extra bulb space in the rear tail lamp assemblies.

I have an aftermarket retrofit rear spoiler for sale.

and rear eurovalance to hide the muffler and spare tire carrier.

got friends CIS problems fixed and having lunch.

diagnosed his problems last week.

It was a bad cold start valve needing to be replaced and a vacuum leak or two but we fixed them and he went home at a face pace.

will sand rear quarters and prime them this evening when it cools off.

well if you are turning it to a track car, why not just cut the bottom off the spare tire, weld in a bottom plate, and mount the battery in there?

bought a lightweight sealed battery by optima half the weight and size of the OEM battery.

By the way it is 12v and is made that way for use in Cessna 152 series aircraft.

high power density for it's size as we say in A@P circles.

with the less weight why move it to the back and run a cable with all that current going through it front to back and all of that current / voltage drop associated with it.

just doesn't make sense.

928 owners know this dillema all to well.

peeled off drip moldings and very little surface rust underneath. no pits.

a friend of mine with a plasma cut the rear panel of the body from the rolled parts car which holds the rear lenses ect .

it was cut away from the seams so it could be properly trimmed and welded at the factory seams.

this will be the main body work on my 924 gtr/ show car..

looking for a good shop or book on how to polish alloy engine parts.

also looking for a good anodizing / powder coating shop.

was thinking to paint the intake with some red caliper paint and sealed with clear and remount the Porsche emblem to it.

other door and jambs, sills done and door mounted. side moldings removed and holes soldered up.

front seats, backseat, front and rear and hatch carpets removed. sound deadner and body coatings in process of removal.

I am keeping a log as to which station point on the vehicle the weights being removed.

when I remove something I weigh it and note the area it came from.

If I can get enough orders for used parts I will get an audi 5speed and torque tube to go in this car.

will sell this and other 4 speed.

also got the rear quarters finished and riveted, soldered my side marker cover plates in place and both of the quarters smoothed and primed for now. wired in the side markers into the empty spot on the 924 rear lenses.

also pickup up a 944 hatch frame with factory spoiler. glass was shattered out of it.

will sell the spoiler. need money.

I want a 968 rear spoiler from gt racing when I get the money.

mo money, mo money, mo money.

well gotta go for now.

will be selling hood, fenders and other items from car soon as I have a single car pole shed built to help protect it.

Try this for your coatings.
http://www.customcoaters.com/index.html
There is a list of links toward the bottom of the page for powdercoaters. Tons of addresses in Georgia. Someone should be able to point you in the right direction for other surface treatments.

Liz you are a genius.

I could do that using a welding cable to run the current foward to the starter from a hd aircraft starter relay in the back. this will keep the wire from being hot all the time. wire will run down passenger side through alloy conduit.

I can run a remote master cutoff switch at the back feeding a new wire foward down the drivers side through a conduit to the stock battery connections up front.

the optima battery can be mounted via a Lindsey Racing billet Optima battery mount.

with the removal of the spare tire well I could fit in Lindsey Racings new 26 gallon fuel cell since it requires the spare tire well removal anyway.

all I need to do is mount a steel tubular crash bar under the rear bumper cover to protect the fuel cell from being rammed.

thanks again Liz,

Sean
