Hey guys I actually never mentioned this but i know the guy that designed the porsche 924 driveline. He lives about 15 minutes from me. Im going to see him next week. Does anyone have any questions that you want me to ask him. _________________ 1982 Porsche 924 in mild restoration process.

Well, if you going to see him, I wouldn't mind finding out from the source about the power limits of the various 5-speed and 4-speed 924 drivetrains.
Also, since I'm curious, and I know that the rumor has been well known around here, finding out if Porsche really did have a prototype 5-cyl 924 would be pretty cool. Finding out from the source what other engines might be compatible would be a big plus as well.
If you haven't thought of this already, try getting him into our forum--It'd be fun to have him here.

I will ask him these questions. He is a little weird. He always spits out alot of useless (to me) information for no reason whatsoever?!!?
He has his own euro shop now and my car was at one point serviced only by him. Hes gonna flip when I show him the butchering (kidding) ive done to my car. Look ma no FI. _________________ 1982 Porsche 924 in mild restoration process.

I am curious about the torque tube/drive shaft assy. Is this truly not serviceable by the home mechanic. Is it because special tools are needed. If so what tools? If it is serviceable what is the disassembly/reassembly/rebuild procedure?
Thats a lot to ask but this sounds like a real opportunity.
Thanks |

| The torque tube rebuild is not listed in the FAQ but I found it in the "Tech section" under the subheading of Transaxel. Thanks! |
