Is the K&N air filter worth the money?

I would rather save my money. The K&N will alow more air, but the valves inside the head are not big enough to use the extra air. The std filter allows more than enough air for the standard motor.

Cheers

Yeah, I'd second the motion of not worth the money... If you think it'll give you more power, first try running the engine without any filter. I noticed no difference between this and a clean stock paper filter. I don't think the K+N can do better...

it lets more flow in...but it also lets more dirt in.

if ya drive on a dusty road...well nuff said...

Also, 80-100 bucks isn't bad if you have to buy 8 filters....say you keep the car for 4 years. 8 filters, no difference in price...BUT again, they let more dirt in.

I think it's worth it for the 931. The stock filter is around $25, and the K&N is only $40 from Paragon Products (http://www.paragon-products.com). For the 924 n/a...not such a good deal, but still probably worth it in the long run.

let's see........every high performance car owner out there runs a K&N, including professional racers. But, it is not worth $40.00 for an underpowered Porsche that needs every possible performance boost it can get. Plus you never have to replace it. I am not getting the logic here.
