Andial lambda valve manipulation?

Hey, has anyone noticed that Andial has a kit for manipulating the lambda valve on CIS 930s to richen the mixture under boost?
There's info on their page at www.andiahl.com (I think that's the address), and it's currently available. Of course, it's also quite expensive.
Anyone think of doing our own version of it? We're the only other CIS turbo cars in Porsche-land...

Like, the 930, the 931 WUR should be able to richen the mixture up to 0.8 bar (11.5psi). I don't see any reason why that kit wouldn't work for the 931. I'm only about 10 miles from Andial, maybe I could go talk to them about it?

Good luck! I have a feeling they're not much inclined to talk about it, knowing we're not inclined to buy it...

I wonder how much it runs? Still, I gotta figure that we have or know enough EE's to come up with our own circuit...

hey guys, all it is is a voltage reading, u could make circut up that reads pressure and as pressure increases the voltage goes up, you need a pressure reader of some sort, like a pressure switch but not a switch, something that reads pressure and puts it into voltage.

hey what about an electric pressure reading gauge, like an oil pressure sensor for example is electric, im sure you can get a lower range of bar pressure in a presssure sender?
can you get electric senders like the oil pressure sender that read as low as 0.1-1 bar?

How much does it cost? I didn't see a price on the webpage.

From what I read on the web site it is not manipulating the lambda valve it is actuating the warm up injector.

Building one shouldn't be to hard. The problem is getting the fueling right. You will have to have a boost sensor and a computer that will increase the duty cylcle of the warm up injector with higher boost levels. That shouldn't be a problem I belive the Basic stamp can do that. Getting the duty cycle correct for the level of boost is the hard part. Calculate the weight of the extra air and the amount of fuel the injector puts out would be a good starting point then fine tune it on a dyno. But since it is manipulating the warm up injector you might have to put in a temp sensor and have the fueling box take over warm up fueling as well. I'm going to lunch I'll post more later.

I anm not an EE but it seems to me it might not have to be digital.the vacuum diaphrams for egr valve and,the distributors vacuum advance has a rod that moves and changes the timming when the vacuum increases . maybe that device can be modified to react to pressure instead of vaccum and the rod attached to a variable resister and as pressure increases the voltage increases. and wire the variable resister parallel with the cold start switch so the injector maintains its primary purpose .this sounds to easy, would one of you EE tell me if this is feasible

The problem with that is the CSI (cold start injector) is digital. It is controlled using a PWM (pulse width modulation) it has full voltage for x amount of time the no voltage for x amount of time the amount of on time compared to amount of off time is considered the duty cycle.

A Basic stamp can controll a transistor connected to the CSI since it can't supply the required power itself. The problem might be the speed I don't know how fast the basic stamp is or how fast it will have to be to work right. I've never used a Basic stamp before I've just read a couple of articles on it.

A power adapter might have to be made for it to use 13.8V from the car I'm not sure how good the built in power supply is at reducing voltage.

Does anyone know of a boost sensor that has a resistance range somewhere between 5k and 50k ohms for the level of vacuum and boost the engine will see? That is the range the Basic stamp can read directly. Hopefully someone here has more experince will electronis than I do.
