Love the big ol' tires! Do you know if the suspension is factory normal or were "things done"?

Here's a great new pic of the car fresh at the start of the 14 day 19,000 km clockwise jaunt driving around Australia.

In a triumph of Aussie understatement the Barth/Kussmaul 924 Group 4 Rally 924 had a sticker placed on the dash by the Porsche local crew in front of Kussmaul's navigator seat "halten das Meer auf der linken Seite" - "Keep the sea on your left"....

What a fabulous piece of 924 history to own.

Two things I'd be interested to know more about are:

1) The bonnet vents - I notice in its original photos it had two; are they just to extract engine bay heat?

2) The steering set up - is it a standard 924 rack or something quicker?

Hi Nige,

Thankyou, yes it's a great historic Porsche competition car... The bonnet is fiberglass and yes once had two cooling vents, but subsequently the LH side one was filled in as rain water etc could enter near all the electrics.

Steering - I'll have to look into that !

Cheers

Ahhh always wondered if my step dad ended up doing his full restore on this that he always talked about from the look of it when you bought it I guess not. Lost touch with him and do a google on it every now and then to see if it would pop up anywhere. Used to love going for a quick squirt in this as a teenager! All the information that he had sent over from Porsche was pretty cool as well. Glad to see it still getting around & good to see its gone to a good home. If you ever get it back to its old glory and to Tasmania for an event I need a pic with it!!
