I recently ordered the 931 valve kit from Ideola and have to drop everything off at my machinists tomorrow. He asked me to give him the clearance specs and any other specifics for the head.

1980 931, completely stock. He needed to take 6 thousandths of an inch off of the head as it was warped.

Could anyone give me any specifics for clearances or anything else he needs to know to do the valves, guides and seals? I would really appreciate it, after the head comes back I can finally start throwing the car back together and hopefully drive it for the first time.

You need either the Tech Specs booklet or the Factory Service Manual. I have both, but I'm traveling and they're not on this laptop. Rasta should have what you need, if not, I can get it to you on Wednesday.

Thanks for the response', still a little unsure of what information I need to give him out of that? I suppose I can just email him the entire section for valves but not sure.

Is there a difference in valve clearance between a 924 and the turbo?

Give him the whole book, and refer him to Page 8. "clearance specs" is too vague to pinpoint what he's looking for. Clearance at the seat? Clearance in the guides? Clearance at the tappets?

It's all on page 8, he should be able to make sense of it.
