Good morning all, I'm going to be swapping out my gearbox, shift linkages, CV joints and hopefully rear suspension bushings over the next few months and was wondering the best way to get the job done.
I've got almost the whole torsion bar carrier and rear suspension assembly in spares and was wondering if its possible to assemble it all, gearbox and torque tube included then install everything from the bellhousing back? And if it is possible is it a smarter way of doing it?
Thanks |

You'll want to do the torque tube and transaxle first, separate of the rear torsion bar carrier.
Otherwise there is just too much to try and juggle, especially since they all mount separately. _________________ Stefan

Do you have a snailshell or Audi? _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

So with the snailshell, it's a bit more complicated because the trans mounts to the torsion carrier. Removal procedure would then be:
1. Remove exhaust
2. Remove half shafts
3. Remove trans
4. Drop entire torsion carrier
5. Remove torque tube
Installation would be the reverse. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
