Hello, I hate to say it, but I must sell my baby. The car is not turning over presently, I have all the service records, and was only worked on by Porsche. The body is in excellent condition, same with the interrior. Original floor mats, and stereo, but added a 6 cd changer in the trunk. Power windows and sun roof. 126,000 miles. I don't have any pics sorry, it is located in Michigan City, IN about one hour from Chicago. I'm looking for the best offer, someone offered me $500 today, but I wanted to post it before I did anything. Email me for any further information. choekstra@asi-hba.com

I bought my 87 924S for 850. Body and interior are almost perfect. Problem was the transmission came in the hatch and the motor made a little ticking noise. Well, the tranny is working ok now, but the little ticking sound was #2 rod bearing shot. OK, so far I have $2000 into the car with the motor ready to go back together and into the car. Yeah, it was a lot of work but it will be essentially a new car (all new bushings, seals, etc) when it goes back in.

Complaints? Yeah, I haven't had enough time to attend to it do to family but no regrets.

My point of writing is that all 924S/944 are relatively expensive to fix and most will not keep up with a new economy car on a drag strip (corners OK). If you find a 924S/944 that needs major work, it should go for real cheap. Hell, good 944 cars are going for $3000 in this area.

I know they say Porsche on them and have more power than a 924,but they still are old and technology has passed them by.

Please hold the hate emails. I love my 3-924s and 1-924S. But the truth is the truth.

Good luck on finding a new home for your car.

A 5-speed 1987 924S will blow the doors of a new economy car. I have an 87 924S (stock) and it's pretty fast... faster than the equivilent n/a 2.5 liter 944.

0-60 mph in 7.4 secs
mid 15 sec 1/4 mile
137 mph top speed
