Got a leak from the right hand side front drain channel. The drain tube has been crimped and it restricts the flow. Couldn't get grass strummer down it.
I can see the three screws on the a pillar but the trim still wouldn't budge. Do I need to take off anything else? I need to either replace the whole tube or try to rejoin it after cutting out the crimped bit.
Anyone else done this. _________________ Trust, Then Verify |

| Three screws, the rubber trim over the A-piller and the windshield adhesive (most of the time) hold it down. There may be more than one screw in any given hole. You may be able to splice the rubber tube, use a sleeve over the top and use a glue or sealant so it doesn't leak. You should just get one from a junk car (not sure if that's easy in Australia). |

I've redone re-done weather-stripping but haven't done checked the drain tube for leakage. Porsche Technical Service Bulletin 82-01 says to detach the roof liner for access.
-- check that the cross section of drain opening in the rain molding are as large as possible and remove any excess sealing compound around the openings
-- detach the roof liner and pull off drain hose and then eliminate restriction in the tube drainage by inserting an angled round mandrel through the tube adapters from below
-- check for leaks by reattaching drain hose and plug or clamp shut the drain hose, and pour water into rain molding until drain opening is full of water
-- look for leak spots between drain hose and drain tube adapter at points of connection
-- pull of the drain hose and apply a light coat of sealing compound on tube or mount a hose clamp after reconnecting the hose
-- if there's leakage elsewhere in rain molding, use permanent elastic sealing compound like rain molding cement and dry with electric blower
-- recheck for leaks -- water should remain in rain molding for at least 10 minutes This check might be useful whether or not it's necessary to replace the tube. |

Managed to get a piece to join the two ends once I've removed the crimped bit (approx 20 mm long).
Will tackle it over the weekend hopefully. Tube is clear other than that. _________________ Trust, Then Verify |

Managed to cut out the crimped bit and fix a joiner with silicone at each end. Will test it with hose pipe tomorrow to allow the silicon to go off. _________________ Trust, Then Verify |
