Okay, there's a crack or a leak or something in or near my fuel filler hole and neck. But that's not what I'm writing about. While I was investigating the leak, I pulled out the carpeting and sound proofing from the trunk area. I drove it around for a few days like that and wow, that transmission is loud. But that doesn't surprise me so much as how effective that soundproofing material is. Soon as I laid out the carpet and soundproofing again, it was like an August night on the sandy banks of a Maine river looking up at the stars. It was quiet, I mean. How 'bout that?
