I'm getting a little sick of climbing out over my emergency brake lever. I'm not a small guy, I keep getting stuck between the steering wheel and lever when I try to get out. Anyone out there ever modified or moved the thing?

Don't know of moving or modding the hand brake lever.
When you're getting in and out the car and the engine is turned off, leave it in gear so it doesn't roll…
When used when the engine is still running and you need to get in and out the 924 it still shouldn't be very difficult since it hides behind the drivers seat for the greater part. Using the handbrake is only a four or five ‘klicks’ up; Is yours not sitting up to high?
Now how to get it down.

FIRST You might want to adjust the rear drums a little tighter, make sure they are functioning allright. You have to adjust these regularly by hand depending on your way of driving, miles etc.

SECOND check if the emergency brake is still to loose…
Lift it two klicks* and you should already feel resistance when trying to turn the rear wheel (wheels of the ground/car on jackstands). Needs tightening? Behind the emergency brake lever, underneath the carpet, you will find a locknut and two cables that will allow you to adjust the force applied to the brakes.
See Haynes Chapter 9, §19 Emergency Break — adjustment.
HTH
Regards, Harm.

*You might want to grease the Pawl (klicky thing) when you're in there,
because it is known to fail at the most inconvenient moment imaginable …cliffs and such a like

If it is in your way, it is way out of adjustment. . .it should barely come up.

Seems to have a normal throw in comparison to other cars so i didn't think anything of it. It sits flush with seat level, it pulls up much further when engaged. pulls to about a 50 to 60 degree angle... What should it be doing?
