i am having a bitch of a time trying to get the valve springs out of my 924 cylinder head. i got a valve spring compressor from Sears and it just could not compress hard enough to get the valve springs out.

i saw that the tool to do this 5-minute job is $125!!!! does anyone have one of these tools that i can rent/borrow? any ideas as to how i can get these valve springs out without busting the cylinder head?

thanks!

obin

i used a hydraulic press, was easy as pie, can you find a shop and ask to borrow a press?
you need a pipe the size of the bore (smaller of course) and some tape or plastic around the pipe, and a cut out in the pipe so you can stick pliers in and pull the valve keepers out.
