OK, so I am dealing with a screwy wiper switch. My turn signal switch was just replaced (a victim of disassembly during my dash pull), but not the other.
I have been trolling around for a new one, and both PET and an old bug website someone posted show a setup that looks like it includes hose barbs. My Ghia had the setup where washer fluid lines actually came into the car (pressure from the spare tire - yikes), but just having had my steering column apart, I can attest that there was nothing present that looked like washer lines. Am I misunderstanding the pic and PET illustration?
WTF is this black thing?
TIA
rasta
P.S. By the way, the site in question is HERE. . .assuming this is correct, about half the cost of anyone else on this part, and 1/3 of PCNA list. _________________ Toofah King Bad

Mans' attempts to get windshield wiping correct have taken a long and twisted road. What you're looking at there is the fruit of one of the earlier and wilder turns on that road. Another was found in the Fiat 124 Spyder around 1970 - a large left-foot-operated combo mechanical-electrical pushbutton that pumped the fluid via foot power while a built-in switch activated the wipers. -But we'll refrain from excessively mocking this device as I believe one of our compatriots, Ozzie may be still dealing with this type of device.
I've a vague recollection of reading that the barbed line fitting part of your pictured switch can be removed to render the switch usable in the 924. To verify, a clever and successful search should find where that was mentioned. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

Ok.
Mine was a '70 model with the charming little weirdo pump-switch. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

| The switch will physically fit but there is no contact for the washers. The switchpictured is for a late Super Beetle. Beetles and super Beetles did not have electric washers hense the black tubes. |

That is interesting indeed. . .the picture in PET looks exactly like the photo above, and no year split prior to 81 is indicated. _________________ Toofah King Bad

If it's 20+ years old, I'll have to pass. My turn signal innards turned to dust as soon as the retaining screws came off! _________________ Toofah King Bad

Still have no answer to this. . .and my wiper swtich is officially exploded. The back of the stalk is marked VW/Audi 113 953 503 BC 8191 14, which doesn't come back to anything in PET.
Help! Need this part! _________________ Toofah King Bad

Don't expose it to light, darkness, oxygen, vacuum, heat, cold, vibration, or stasis. _________________ Toofah King Bad

link you posted doesn't seem to be operational anymore. I have been planning to get another switch for my car as well. Mine went bad and I replaced it with one out of a bug. I took the the black nozzles off of the back. Now my washer pump doesn't work and I don't have intermittent wipers.
I think that the G on the end indicates intermittent. I had a site bookmarked that had them for around $30, I thought that I had posted it once before, but I can't seem to find it now. _________________ 1980 924 NA

HERE is a different one. . .check the note regarding 5 prongs. It is the one I ordered. . .I know the washer won't work, but I am hoping for delay wipers. . . _________________ Toofah King Bad
