Well, I'd certainly rather have the Shagster than some of the sorry looking 951s I have seen. _________________ Toofah King Bad

compare my 924 turbo with a nice 951 and yes i'd take the 951...however...not any day.
the 951 is more expensive...more taxes...more dificult to work on...more complex systems...and thats not always good.
you can feel the boost kick in harder on the 931 than on the 951(yes the 931 is slower but it does not feel that slow and since most of the time you're not racing...that makes a difference)...so on the feeling point of view...the 931 is not that bad.
if i had the money to keep one..i'd have the 951 because of the comodities it offers: power steering, climate control,LSD, easy bolt on +100HP kits. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

Meh. About the only downside to a 944 Turbo, I reckon, is that it's not as good lookin' as the toofah... _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

I chose my 931 over a 951. Never have had any regrets with this decision. But heres is one conversion. I think I have posted this before in another thread:

Oh that yellow one is pretty......that's much like what I'm after except I'd stick with the CGT headlights.
Any idea who make the best CGT body kit parts? I'm more concerned with quality, shape accuracy and fit than price.
BTW....the language on the page is Finnish...here's the Google translation.
The car is based on 944 Turbo S model, the year 1989. Whole car is built externally to meet the Porsche 924 Carrera GTS model. Car modifications are completed in 2007. The car can be found in a well-documented service history. Quality of work is high and is responsible for more than a very original car was finalized. A good standard of equipment to guarantee a newer car comfort. The car is a Porsche installed as a new sport chassis (option M030), which includes more rigid shock absorbers, thicker Stabilizers and lock rear. Dry weight distribution is 50/50, which makes the car will behave in a balanced way in all driving situations.
Porsche Carrera GTS is manufactured in 1981 by a special type. Cars were produced only 59 pieces. Engine tuning rate was increased to 245 horsepower. The car was lighter bumpers, fenders, glass, interior, etc., giving the total weight as low as 1100kg. 0 to 100 km / h in 5.2 seconds and a top speed exceeding 260 kilometers per hour Carrera GTS's vehicle was built for racing and competed in the factory so as LeMans rallies with cars. _________________ 1981 931 (Canadian car)

It would make one mutha of a custom Porsche, that's for sure. My $0.02 would be to get a suitable 924S, a suitable 944 Turbo, gut the '44 Turbo and put it all into the toofah body, then put a CGT body kit on the toofah (which is, I suspect, what that yellow car is).
Of course, if you substituted the '44 Turbo for a 968 Turbo RS, well, I don't think it'd get much better than that
Then again, there's only four real 968 Turbo RS's, I think (there's four replicas done by Fitzgerald Racing Services in Oz, too, and maybe a handful of others around the world), so sacrificing one of them would be more than I stomach. But it's fun to dream... _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

I agree, they feel very different to drive. It's easier to drive the 250bhp 951 quicker: the power delivery is far more progressive and the power steering takes the effort away. It's quieter and feels like a much heavier more solid car, which it is. It would make a better everyday car, but it loses the rawness and the more direct feel you get with the CGT which makes it a more thrilling drive on the weekends. _________________ 924 Carrera GT
