I reciently bought an 80 924 turbo, runs great. Cold it has 6-8 BAR oil pressure. After it warms up it drops to 1 BAR at idle and 2-3 around 25k. Im running QS 5-30.
This seems low to me although it doesnt affect engine performance. Is this ok or is there a problem?

Probably ok, but I use 20w-50 in my 931 (Mobil 1). That 5w-30 is too thin IMHO.

Use something heavier. 10/30 minimum. If it's cold where you are the 20/50 may be a bit much, unless you are very careful with start and warmup. However, if the car does not use oil and for all but winter, I would run Mobil 15/50 or 20/50 also. (Mobil 15/50 vs 20/50 seems to depend on the market as to which they distribute)

It all depends. I use Valvoline 50; but that is for a car fun only on the track.

Ooops!
I'm using Mobil 1, 0w40 in the Britsh climate. 6-7 bar from cold and still seeing 2 bar @ idle when warmed up.
Oil & filter change every 4-5k miles though.
Too thin or ok considering the pressures I'm getting?

Sounds ok. Pressures are good, but watch out for over filling on the oil.

ok how about this. I am running castrol syntec 5w50 at start I am pulling 6-10bar but once engine has been running awhile the oil never goes above a 4bar and that is from 3000rpm to 7000rpm

Nothing to worry about Liz, you're plenty well lubricated. If you need to worry, just worry about bears in the woods offering ultimatums.
