well, I've gotten to the point, on this restoration, where I can fool around with the radio system. Lo and behold, its got rear speakers but nothing in the front. Can anyone advise me as to what the OEM setup was for front speakers? Location and size? (82-931). Thanks in advance

Here's the type of LP speaker (that's limited potential) that was installed by the factory -

They put one in the front-top-center of the dash and 2 more in back, one at each side of the rear seat.

There were 2 arrangements for the 924NA-931 - earlier, they used an 8ohm in the dash and another 8ohm at rear-left (wired together in parallel to make 4ohms) and a 4ohm speaker at rear-right. -So the center dash and rear-left speakers were both on the left channel.
The later arrangement used 4ohm speakers at all 3 positions, again with dash center and rear-left speakers together on the left channel, but with an added front-rear fader that also performed some type of impedance matching magic to make those two speakers equal 4ohms combined.
The changeover from mixed impedance speakers to all 3 the same + fader control started with vin #92A0432557 for 924na and #93A0152763 for 931.

That's what I found but I was looking for another front speaker; you confirmed my observation. THanks so much.
