The Turbo in my 931 is shot and i want to get a larger and more powerful turbo for this car. I have been looking all day and all night and cant find one so can someone help me find a turbo that can fit this car that has some more kick to it. Thanks. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo (?)

If you want easy, just get your existing turbo rebuilt/replaced and change the wastegate spring to up the boost -and add a boost controller. You don't need a different turbo. Some members here are running 15psi+ with no other modifications. Even going to 10psi, like the "Euro" cars, will give you a fair increase in performance.
WARNING: You'll want to be sure your engine is in good condition and can handle the boost. _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

Well I did link to your thread, sequential. But he said he didn't wanna do all that work. So I figure sticking in a new wastegate spring is probably the easiest thing, right?
Anyways, there's another thread about it here. _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

boost controller is my vote. Wastegate spring is hours of work and a huge pain and then once you are done, if it's too much or too little boost your kind of stuck. With a boost controller you can keep adjusting it until you have it at the boost you want and its much easier to install. _________________ 1980 Porsche 924 N/A USA

Hey, that's cool. If a boost controller is easier, do that first! I guess I was trying to point out that you don't necessarily need to replace the turbo to get more power. Here's a thread on that very subject. _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

Ok, lil off topic but not really...
I really want to install my boost controller, but I don't want to cut the wastegate line. I'm trying to find the size of the fitting that would screw into the back of the charge pipe, and I have no idea what size that is. I've tried a few different sizes but it seems I am going to cross thread it if I screw it in any further. Anyone know the size/type of fitting that will work? _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

take the fitting off, or the charge tube off and take it to a store with a thread pitch guage, although cutting the line will not cause any problems and you can always get a straight thru fitting to replace if you remove the controller _________________ 3 928s, |
