I found this picture on cardomain, i beleive it is a board member's site
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/455385/5
(the pic of the black 924 with rear wing)
I would really like to install a 968 wing on my 924, has anyone ever done it or know where i can find a wing for a reasonable price? I plan going junkyard hunting in the next couple of weeks and will be on the look out, but i would like to know what everyone else knows....
thanx

If you can find a set of 968 door handles ....I will pay 150 bucks for the set!
Not sure...but I think the entire 968 hatch might fit??? _________________ 1976 924

Far as I know, the 968 hatch should bolt on. They never changed it from the 924, right?
But I suspect you can't easily put the 968 spoiler on the 924 hatch. The 968's probably got a different lip arrangement on the hatch, with a specific mounting for the spoiler.
Come to think of it, you'd have to be careful that the hatch would close properly. It's possible they moved or changed the arrangement of the two holding pins of the 924 and the lip/seal on the body may be slightly different, too?
They look the same. But looks can be deceiving...
Either way, at the very least, you'd have to buy the whole 968 hatch, I suspect. _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

i put a bridge spoiler on my 924 a few years ago, its got a 944 part number and i used all 4 parts of it. the sides fit straight on through the original holes. the actual wing needed a pair of new holes put into it to fit and the strip bellow it required lots of mastic! there may be a better way to do this! my car already had the turbo style rubber spoiler on it.
the wing came from a 924 race car in the UK that had been written off i paid £80 for it _________________ 1984 924 (Daily driver for 4 years)

951 after '89 had these as a standard equipment. Maybe S2 too, not sure about that.
But it will bolt up, if not mind drilling a few holes. _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp

Yep. BTDT with the 968 hatch on a 924 just for kicks. They changed the holes (in the body that the hatch bolts to) slightly as the 924 evolved and then morphed into the 944 series, they stayed stable as the 944 became the 968. As mentioned, the "968 hatch" really debuted on the late 944 series cars (951 and S2). |
