andrew: Is your speedo going to work after you get the 944T brakes installed? If so how is it being driven? Thanks.

Not a clue if the speedo will work. Its 95% a track day car - so for that a speedo is not really a worry. For the drive to and from the local tracks (made the mistake of driving to a track 300km away once, then bought a trailer very quickly after that!!) I already have a GPS that I use, as my non standard steering wheel blocks the view to the speedo and rev counter. Have an extra rev counter with shift lights installed on the top of the dash, but decided that the speedo was not required.

My car has the drums at the back. Not a fan of those, and if I am going to upgrade them its probably the easiest way out to go to the 951 system. I think. Have not spoken to the chap who looks after my car yet. You are right in saying that with proper ventilation (mine have) they are OK for a 5/6 lap period. But once I add a little more power I am not sure. I also have to admit that I like to modify things!

However there are more important things for me to fix on the car before the brakes. The car was in terrible condition when I bought it and it has been a case of slowly fixing all the little and not so little problems.

In my experience even with added power, the standard 944 brakes are plenty when used with proper race pads. Maybe ducting too, but I'm not even using that. I'd only be concerned about brake capability with a well-modified 931 on track.
