Happy new year all!

Was wondering of anyone can help me find out a tricky problem i have. When i accelerate to above , say...3 thousand revs or just "boot" it from any revs, i get this whooshing turbo like noise coming from the engine, it's like someone with a bad chest suddenly blowing out like he was punched in the guts. Any ideas what this could be? it doesn't seem to affect the performance apart from the engine cutting out before it red lines.

My 924 NA has got a similar sound. A quite audible "whiiiiiiiii" that follows the trottle position so I just assumed that it's the throttle interiour that makes that sound...

Right or wrong? I dunno...

possibly a vacuum leak, that will cause the engine to starve for fuel, and possibly a hard time starting

Might want to check for a timing belt that is too tight, that will make this noise too.
