Yeah yikes - at roughly $85-$170US new, I can see leaving it alone and resorting to the cold/hot start manual switch when the time comes.
Of course the old hold-the-pedal-to-the-floor-while-starting trick works well too.. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

Followed a link from another recent posting like the above for 0 280 130 214
http://ecat-online.bosch.de/toc/frame1.html and I am now trying to find out if the "replacement" is available still. 0 280 130 214
I followed some other obscure link and it may also be a ford part ... yes I know I just used the F word on the forum. FD-3315
FD-3315 043906163A Switch, Temperature
http://www.simply-parts.com/S-Pcat0805/Simply-Parts%20Ford%20catalogue%20081127.pdf
On some obscure other forum posting I also noticed mention of a failure in the TTS that caused the wires attaced to it to melt, this was my original problem the green wire with white trace melted.

Its Alive
I have been chasing a NEW Thermo Time Switch for the 924 but havent had any luck as they are not made by Bosch anymore , there was a replacement but they also are not made anymore or avaiable in Australia. So today Saturday the 24th January I connected the green / white wire to earth therefore bypassing the Thermo Time Switch and It fired straight away and ran. The old green and white wire was the one that originally melted when the TTS failed and I then had a brand new wiring harness made.
Before that it would only crank over and over and over but not fire.

I am not sure but connecting the two wires that run to the thermo time switch may run your Cold Start Valve (fuel injection into the manifold) all the time. It is only meant to fire for a period of seconds.
Someone jump in who recalls more detail. _________________ "Never get out of the boat. Absolutely goddamn right. Unless you are goin' all the way."

Glad to hear you're making progress Alan
IIRC when hooked up properly it will only fire when the key is in STARTING position,
(duration depending on a cold or warm engine by a thermo contact inside the TTS)
and have no current (off) when the key returns in the ON position when you get the engine running.
You could choose to place a switch between the Gn/Wt and Rd/Wt wires so you'd be able to apply cold start manually when necessary.
Seems to work for other members up here.

I didnt run it for long, but I will see what happens when I disable the earth to the green white wire. If it does what Harm suggested then I may hook up a switch until I can track down a replacement.

Check out 9XX Girl!'s solution. It's pretty elegant in my opinion. _________________ 78 924 NA

0 280 130 214 has been superseded to F 026 T03 100 by Bosch, and that part is available from them, MSRP $246.20. My wholesaler has 16 in stock at the moment. _________________ Kevin
