My clutch is becoming stiffer each week. It is worse when the car has been parked all day (or night) and it eases a bit as it is driven.

Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening? I don't want to pull the clutch out.

Cheers

is it a cable or hydraulic activated clutch?

Thanks, It is cable - I'll try lubing it as it does feel a bit scratchy as wel. Better still, I might even replace it before it breaks!

My clutch was extremely stiff, I replaced the cable and it has been fine since.

replace the cable.

Basically, it's coming apart which is why it's stiff and probably, as nidge says, feeling a bit "scratchy".

Mine was exactly the same a couple of months ago, stiff and scratchy, and a new cable made all of that (and the rash) go away.

Sorry, couldn't help myself. I'm trying really really hard not to work in a line about the heat in South Africa.

Anyway, just replace the cable.

Peter in Sydney AU.

No longer stiff and scratchy since they decided to have winter.
