How tight is this car!?!
Info:
http://www2.us.porsche.com/english/usa/carreragt/modelinformation/experience/desktop/default.htm
None of these cars will be in show rooms. They are being shipped directly from Porsche. Your cheque will go directly to Porsche through the dealership. To purchase one, a $50,000 US deposit will be made to a dealership, then you wait from 6 months to a year. They may only be using one colour, Carrera GT silver. The price is yet to be determined. $275,000 may be a low ball guess. They will create more than 30 of these cars, this I know. They will not however create more than 500. You must buy this car without knowing the price, you must buy this car without seeing it, you must buy this car then wait, you must buy this car knowing, it is the very essence of perfection. If you have the funds available, I insist you buy this car now. Mortgage your house and sell your boat. In three months of having this car you can sell it for a 25% profit. In a year sell it for 50% profit. Or keep it all of your life and then sell it... for twelve or fifteen times the original purchase price.
0-60mph in 3.78 seconds
I think Porsche is playing a game with us. How wet can you get?
Source.
As for the colour he wasn't sure they were making them any other colour than the GT silver.

Well your source is very far off the mark. Porsche is making 1500 IIRC and the price is now just shy of 400K. The colors are listed on the Porsche site (yellow, red, black, silver). For a good source of info try the porsche site (imagine that).

I guessed the price tag at around $450,000 for the US market. if I win the lottery tomorrow (guess I have to buy a ticket to win eh) I would go and buy 1 right NOW _________________ 3 928s, |

So you have to dish out the major money and not even see it? Ouch. I can't find a picture of the interior either. I think Porsche is selling the idea of "you are one of the very few". Must be nice.
81, my price tag was in United Kingdom Pounds. The guy I was talking with is over there so we used his currency. Forgot to mention that, sorry for upsetting you.
And the 1500 is not carved in stone. I bet there will be less than 300 in the US. |

Wheels or EVO or a mag like that did a review on the C GT about two months ago. Definately a weapon of a car. They had a black one which looked schmik. I'll never be able to afford one though _________________ '79 924 supercharged, intercooled |

if u go to http://www.flat-6.net/phpBB/index.php they talk about all the time with quotes etc from walter rohl (sp?) who has done a 7.40ish around the ring in the wet and reckons he could knock off about 15secs in the dry. he said its the scariest (re: excitingly fast) drive hes had and reckons 95% of its owners wont use it to its fullest potential. he reckoned it had enough torque to comfortably town-drive in 6th all day long
also at that link they have sh!tloads of photos and ive downloaded 2 short vids of it being driven hard on a track- not publicity stuff either, its a hand held camera, it sounds meeeeeeeeean _________________ '86 944 |

Yeah, i've watched a couple of those video's from the site, you can switch camera angles etc and also the sound settings to get the engine or the exhaust notes... _________________ Mars Red '78 Euro 924 n/a

Here´s the URL for the interior pic on the swedish site:
http://www.porsche.se/carreragt/modelinfo/comfort/
(if the pic won´t show, just click on "Komfort" on the right hand menu)
Probably the greatest interior I´ve ever seen, where can I find this stuff for my 924? _________________ 924 -78, restoration in progress....

strip the "default.htm" off the end of the URL and it should load okay.... looks very nice i must admit, i wonder how the car will fair though with a new Honda NSX out and the little Lotus Elise holding on tight to the market... _________________ Mars Red '78 Euro 924 n/a
