How do I test the light switch
I put the car back together from painting it and the front
driving lights [where the blinkers are and the rear lights]
wont work theres no power being delivered...the headlights,
all blinkers, and brake lights work just no driving lights..

I would use a continuity tester. _________________ 1981 924 NA

This may sound dumb, but you just painted to you clean the areas for the grounds, so they were touching bare metal. A test light can be your 924's best friend. have yet to meet a 924 that didn't have electrical gremlims, yet. _________________ Life is to short to be looking for something? |

Yea of course I cleaned them up though I did manage to get a good used switch for free from the european car clinic ,though it was pulled from a 78 mines a 79 they are a little different and dont inter change when I put the old one back in the left side of the driving lights front and back came on..I didnt have time to do any more as I had to go to work... What I did also do is pull the wires from there sockets and put them on one by one Im trying to find which wires operate the driving lights I found the wire that operates the left side cant find the other...I have a voltmeter I think Ill try a live wire and poke it in each socket and see what the result is...a continuity tester is what I need and a test light.. Ok guys thanks...darn gremlins. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

I know that the price isn't the best, but for peace of mind have you considered just getting a new switch about $45. Of course I can sell you a used switch too. PM for the price. Even though the new one is at least good for what, another 23 years?? _________________ Life is to short to be looking for something? |
