My alternator is not charging my battery. I had this problem in the past which resulted in taking the alternator in a getting it bench tested. The alternator tested good, so I put it back in the car and took it to a mechanic to have him test the system. When we were playing with the wires, trying to figure out which one goes where, the battery light stopped comming on. It solved the problem, but we wern't really sure what the problem was or how it was solved.
I am experiencing the same problem again, and am not sure what I am looking for to solve the problem. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks,
Zak |

First thing I would check is that your ground wire is secure. _________________ 1980 924 turbo |

Check all the grounds, they can tend to get a little bad after 20+ years of use/abuse.
My battery ground is chewed up and too short, so I'm going to replace both with GM post style terminals. I've always preferred those connections. _________________ '81 931 in various states of assembly |
