unfortunately the messy business of earning a living has meant that setting up alternatives to the discussion board has taken longer than expected.

Anyway, I should be able to post a link to the boards this weekend. I have three boards for your consideration. They all do the job, are all open-source (no cost) and seem reasonably easy to administer.

Vaughan,

when you have some time would you create a compressed archive of the current postings and email it to me so I can work out how to load them into the alternative boards.

I hope that the software I've found will not change the board too much, just make it easier to administer.

And, of course, add that important element thats been missing from everyone's life.... smilies.

The board does not have to change to new software. If everyone decides that the alternatives I have found suk or that what we have now is better, I don't have a problem with that. I just hope that we can find something we can all enjoy using, and when I say "we" I mean all of us, including the Administrator.
