Just picked up a working/rough bodied '80 931 as a parts car for my engine damaged
but good bodied/good interiored '81 931. I'd like to transplant the '80's engine
but there are differences. Two different 5-speed transmissions. Different turbos.
Or should I go the other direction . Any ideas out there? The '80 has these
nifty 16" anodised rims and strange R-1 shift pattern. Dwak

The 81 car has the more advanced ignition system. I believe it would be better/easier if you founf a good 81
donor instead. There are many differences you would need to compensate for.

Where are you located I know of an 81 turbo that needs some body work on the east coast USA.
If the yard can not sell the entire car...... he might part it out. I was looking at it myself and have some pictures
I could send you if you like. You would need to contact him to get pricng though

Eric
