| I would like to protect my 1980 924 turbo against rust and one part of that is to add oil in various cavities. Otherwise you will get rust that eats up the car from the inside and you wont see it until it's too late. In the door there is a barred opening and also in the doorpost. Are these openings suitable to add oil through or do I have to drill holes? |

Unless there was accident damage, these cars came galvanized from the factory and hold up pretty well against rust. There are lots of drains that may need attention to stop standing water. I don't know about oil. It would probably need to be reapplied every so often as it would tend to run down vertical sufaces. Plus the smell would get to me. _________________ '87 924S, now in better hands. Have a look. |

| Oh galvanized? I wasn't sure if it applied to the 924 and if all parts were galvanized, I got a 1980 924 turbo imported from germany to sweden. Some surface rust has started to gnaw at the underside of the car but I plan on using a treatment of linseed oil there. It's an economical and perhaps more environmental friendly alternative to solvent based stuff. |
