My 1980 931 keeps burning up fuel pump relays (yes I am using a 931 relay). I seem to have a resistace of about 6 ohms more than the average resistance in the car. About the only other thing I can think of at this time would be to check the ground. Would a loose ground wire behind the dash cause this problem? Also the tips of the fuel pump fuse are burnt black. I would rather rebuild the motor than re-wire this car. What a nightmare!

Remove the fuse and put an ampmeter in its place to check the current draw. then put the ampmeter in series next to the pump. Check the grounds and connections if the current is higher than it should be.

You can buy a low temp thermostat for the 924 at any autoparts store. No more expensive than for any other car.
