When you shift, the throttle body closes
and the engine builds upa higher vacum in each
cylinder. This vacumwill such oil in the valve
guideson the intake valves. The engines will smoke.
In general,f the engines smokes when you let off the gas,the valves guides areletting in oil. If
it smokes when you press on the gas,the
pistonrings are leaking and you are getting
blow by into the crank case.
If you remove the PCV hose and try it,you might
finds that there is less smoke if the
rings are leaking, but valveguides arevery common
with these engines. (What the heck, the head gasket
needs tobe changed by now anyway.)
If you do find that removing the PVC hose stops the smoke, this
is on indicaiton that the rings may be bad or
you may have a leak in the oil pan / valvecover
that is allowing raw oil to be pulled intothe
intake. You would normally see this as smoke
all the timeand atan idle.
