Hello ,
I have a 931 from 79'
gearbox no/ G31/01
Yesterday I blew my 4th gear .
Shifted form 1st gear (at 14psi /6000rpm's)
to 4th gear , and the race was over ..hehehe.
I heard a big krakkkkkk and the poke was stuck
in the 4 gear position .
The funny thing is , the car would keep running
and it was standing still.(hink the 4th gear is
blewd up )
a friend of mine gave me an 016z gearbox .
It's the same ,exept for the thiker mainshaft
g31/01=25mm
016z=20mm
I wanted to know if the gears are interchangeble,
between the gearboxes.
plz email me if you can help .
thanks in addvance ,jimmy meyboom

These gearboxes have many common parts. 2nd through 5th will interchange except the ratios are different. First gear on the n/a trans is part of the shaft. It's removeable on the G31 trans. The R & P will also interchange. The G31 has a 4.125:1 and the n/a has 5.o:1 (US specs). The European boxes have different gear ratios then the US so there are many to choose from. I have both boxes so I compared parts.
