Hello! The problem only happens around once a month. After I drive the car for a while and then shut it off, and try to restart it 5 min later, the starter won't spin, like its not getting power. All I can hear is the fuel pump, no click or anything (solenoid?) If I let it sit for a 1/2 hour or so, it will fire up just fine.
I can't troubleshoot it because it only happens when I'm no where near any tools. I think I might try getting a new starter solenoid, but before I do I would like some opinions.

There is just some dirt and carbon deposits in teh starter motor, and the brushes are a little dirty...you have to take it apart, get some fine sand paper, like 400-1000 grade, and lightly sand down the armature, brush contact parts, and clean the black stuff in the starter. Take her apart and watch carefully and do it slow so you know how it goes back.
