931 crankshaft bearing failure

I have just been offered a 931 of which on of the crankshaft bearings has failed.
If I buy a 931, I would want to work on the engine anyway, would this be a good car to start out with? Preferrably I would like a 931 to run about 250 HP. Any suggestions?
