How hard is it to get parts for these cars? I guess its an overall question, are some critical pieces becoming NLA?
Are they that different than NA 924s?
I did read the faq, just looking for an overall feel.
Thanks Mike _________________ 87-924s |

for the most part availibility is pretty good. i'm in the assembly stage right now after going through mine from top to bottom and the only trouble i've had are some wear items in the gearbox (for '80 cars only) are NLA, and pistons only come through JE special order $$. Turbo rebuilds are spendy, but the parts are available. Other than that I haven't been any problems. No expensive belt changes every couple years to worry about. There are a couple that have popped up here in the for sale section that look like nice examples. Good luck.

I concur with -Nick. I suspect that 99+% can be found either through this Board, aftermarket or through the dealership. Those things that need replacement as a result of normal wear and tear, and age, seem to be available. The few exceptions seem to be interior parts (fabric, dashboard, decent carpet), or specialized major component internals (turbo bit-parts, pistons, etc) but as a general statement, yes everything you'll need can be found.
...didn't say everything would be cheap though. Not nearly as bad as some cars, but not everything is VW bug cheap. _________________ '79 Eurospec 931 |
