I did not have a problem getting to them on my 80 931. I'm going by memory, so forgive me if I get some of the detail wrong (too much partying as a kid, and all). The back panel that is over the speaker is attached with various screws along the door. there is a strip of the panel that is glued and you don't want it to peel off. I remember that by placing the back seat in its up position, I was able to carefully dislodge the bottom portion of the panel. Then I pulled the panel just far enough to lower the back seat and I was able to push the panel back just far enough to get to the cheesy stock speaker.

Good luck.
