Hi All

We've had torrential rains all wekend in the northeast, and now I found that the passenger footwell of my 1980 924T is soaked with water, lots of water, maybe an 1/4" of water. are they any commons symptoms?...easy fixes?

Thanks.

Pull your battery and look under it. you may have to remove some of the coating, but usually it starts rotting away there and leaks water right into the footwell of the passenger side.

Check the battery area, check the seal on the sun roof, check the rear hatch seal.
Also check to make sure the battery area and drivers side area that mirrors the
battery area both drain properly. They have small tubes that allow water to flow
from these areas into the engine bay and to the ground. When these clug the water
will pool up and can run into the car.

Hey anyone done this trick..... Nice girlfriend in car on rainy day. Go through a fast
turn to show her how well your car sticks in the rain.... only to have a pool of water
come splashing in through the fresh air intake and hose her feet! Funny when it happens
well I though it was......

Anyway this can also happen if you don't make sure those drains are clear.

Eric
