I've done lots and lots of research on this car (thanks to those who contributed). The Le Mans models made in 88 were different from the regular 924S most notably because of the factory lowering (10mm/15mm), sport shocks/suspension, thicker anti-roll bars (21.5mm/20mm), 7JX15 rear wheels, standard power sunroof and sport seats. This model was made to celebrate Porsche's 12th outright win at Le Mans. It was lighter, offered less drag, and had lower/stiffer suspension than the 944. Unfortunately, the special paint and interior colours are less than desirable in today's market (teal wheel rims and teal pin striping on the grey interior).
These cars are very rare it seems. I've heard there were less than 15 sold in Canada, and that at least 3 are wrecked (in Ontario mostly). I have yet to hear from another North American 924S Le Mans owner yet I've seeded many newsgroups, discussion boards, PCA clubs, and websites.
The car is in Victoria, British Columbia. I'm asking $9,000US OBO. Let me know if you're interested. Also, if you have a 924S Le Mans like mine, I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!!!
