I recently got a new 924 and the glove box was locked and had no key, the previos owner didn't have the key either. I would like to be able to get into the glove box and so far I haven't been able to come up with an idea that didn't involve destroying the glove box. Anyone have any ideas on how to get in without breaking anything?

Thanks

Two things.
Call your local Porsche dealer and give them your VIN. Some car
makers kept records on keys for particular cars..... doubt it in this case
but it is worth a try.

More likely to succeed is to call a locksmith to come out and unlock it for you.
Then replace the lock with a new one and new set of keys.

Ive used a company called pop a lock for $20 they come to you and pick your lock. if you want to try it yourself Ill try and explain it to you. if you put your fingertips together in a straight line they will represent the pins in the lock 5 in the tumbler 5 in the lock assem. when the key is not in the lock the pins in the assem. extend down into the tumbler locking it in place. when you put the key in the lock it pushes the pins up so that they align in a shear point allowing the tumbler to turn .you use some hind of hook to turn the tumbler slightly and keep tension on it so that the holes that the pins are in dont line up perfectly there slightly offset and with another small piece of metal you rake across the pins lifting them. the theory is with the holes offset the pins in the assem. will hang up and not extend down into the tumbler and when you get all of the assem.pins out of the tumbler the tumbler will turn and the lock will open . now Mr. bond if you get caught, we will disavow any knowledge of your activity .
