Timing Belt and a cool Porsche site

Is it true that if your timing belt breaks while your driving the engine will seize up? how often do you need to replace the timing belt?

That doesn't apply to the 924 but it does apply to the 924S and the 944's. As for the 931, I'm not sure but I would assume it doesn't apply to it either since it's relatively the same engine. The 924 has a non-interference engine which means if the belt breaks then the belt breaks unlike an interference engine (ie. 944) where the valves can bend and/or the head may warp.
