You have probably heard this story a trillion times,
but I am having the 924 nitorious warm starting problem, everything has been checked out, the fuel pump works, injectors work, I even took off the throttle body and cleaned it out really good,
the only thing I have not replaced is the fuel filter yet because I can't get one here locally that fits, they are all 911 and audi fuel filters
and don't fit. Could the fuel filter be the answer to my warm starting problems?

It depends on how old it is. If the fuel filter is restricted, the injectors are not getting adequate fuel pressure to start squirting. So, the system has to increase the pressure to overcome the fuel filter restriction, which takes longer. Get the right filter and replace. If the problem persists, write back.

I agree, get the right fuel filter. However, if the problem is _only_ on the warm starting, it's most likely either the fuel injectors (leaking after pump shutoff) or the fuel accumulators.

Check the injectors by seeing if they continue to leak fuel after the fuel pump is shutoff; they should stop sharply. If not, replace, if so, it's time for new fuel accumulators or to add a check valve in the plumbing.

I cannot see how anyone can diagnose this problem without a more detailed description of the symptoms.

It ALSO could be:

Electrical Problems which Emerge when Hot
(1) Starter solenoid
(2) Grounding

What exactly is it doing? What are the details?

after the car has been driven and you shut it off, and go to drive it again while engine is still warm or semi-warm it cranks and cranks for a long time like its flooded or something, you smell gas a little too. After about 5 or more tries it will start and idle very poorly until you rev it up really high. When the engine is cold
it starts right up and runs smoothly. Its just when the engine is warm.
