My tensioner is making a hell of a racket, and I am smart
enough to know what a complete failure will do!
Can anyone tell me if the early pulley can have it's bearing
replaced, and if so, do you know a bearing part no?
Why don't I just go buy it from Porsche? ( If ya gotta ask,
you dont live in Australia!!) Apparently the whole assembly
bolt and all has to be replaced at a fantastic price!! (200.00)
Any suggestions would be appreciated !!

I think you are looking at $30 US for the tensioner and $2 for the bolt and washer. If you want I could ship you a new one. I'm in this zip code of the US 74128. You pay for parts and shipping and see if you can get it cheaper if you can wait!

Mike:

Go to the Parts section of the Garage. You will find a bunch of applications listed for the pulley. Also, what year 924 are you talking about?

If you get the new style pulley you need a shorter bolt. You can cut the old one as an alternative. Not so hard to do as you might think.
