My complements to those kind enough to respond to my earlier thread "Lost ignition help" (above). Having determined that all of the marks are in the right positions, I still have no fire. I have replaced the coil, rotor, cap and ignition module. Is the distributor sensor all that's left? --Jim--

So everything mechanical lines up. But no fire, but it had fire before the component swap. How was the fire before the swap? Maybe swap back in the old pieces see if it works and then start swaping the new, one at a time. You might have a bad new part?

I'll start looking through the factory manual and see what tests to do and what to check.

Jim,

check your distributor. When you apply an ohm meter to the distributor ( one wire to the side and one to the terminal it should have resistence. Maybe it's one to each side of the terminal. Try both ways. Can't remember which way it goes but anyways...) You should have resistence. If you don't the distributor is bad. Hope this helps

Made all connections to earth shiney and bright, performed the hall sensor and ignition module tests; all passed. The problem apparently WAS a bad (intermittant) ground, and all is well, for now. Hit it with the ether, and it hit on the FIRST TRY. Moving on to the fuel now, fully expect to post again when I get stumped. My sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone for their generous donation of their time. Your help and guidance has made this project MUCH easier.
