One of these days we gotta get some tech info published on this common question. Till then...

There are bunches of folks who have done this using all manner of 924Turbo or 944 donor cars.

I have made this upgrade to an 1982 924 using a 1980 931 donor car. This provides the brakes and wheels you mention and is a bolt-on. In fact we used the torsion bar carrier and struts in place on the 924.

Vaughn Scott has performed the swap using (I think) early 944 (pre 85/2) and that also was bolt-on.

But as you diverge more you need to get more of the donor to ensure compatibility. The absolutely safe thing is to get the COMPLETE suspension from the donor and bolt that in. For example as you move to the alloy suspension arms (front or rear) there begins to be minor dimensional changes. The Alloy rear arms will not fit on an 924 torsion bar carrier.

But, this is a fairly easy swap.

Question; why do you want to do the swap?

John

to answer your question why, it boils down to the fact that four wheel discs are better , especially when the swap appears to be fairly easy. Add in the fact that i bought two complete , running 924's for
$800 , and intend one for a daily driver and one for fun... Ive been told that i need the entire rear suspension to do this the right way. not to mention the master cylinder, obviosly. what about the front? do i need the A arms or just the spindle/hub/rotot/caliper? im new to the porsche interchaneability, but it looks fairly easy...
