Hi All,
I recently acquired a project 1981 931 after my NA took a crap. Been sitting for a while so there are definitely many things that need love on it. I’ve read up on fuel system trial and error and other things(timing belt, old fuel, etc.) to look out for when reviving one of these cars. In trying to get it running I’ve come across a missing ignition coil to which I took off the one from my 79 but the connections are all different and I haven’t been able to find anything about there being a different coil. Has anyone else seen connections like this or am I unfortunately running into some custom wiring?

I figure I will have plenty of other questions as I go on so I will keep any to this thread and thank you for your help! _________________ 1979 Porsche 924 - The first but probably not the last (Relegated to parts :/ )

Those look 100% stock, same as on my '82.
There's a screw-on terminal which goes on one side, on the post, to provide the twin spade connectors to match that two-wire plug. _________________ Vaughan Scott

Ok cool, would it make a difference if I were to change the connections and use an ignition coil off a 79na? _________________ 1979 Porsche 924 - The first but probably not the last (Relegated to parts :/ )

I would make a small jumper wire to a ring terminal - since those are just spade terminals anyway - and the '79 coil should be fine for getting it up and running, I should think. _________________ Vaughan Scott
