|
|
When I bought the car, there weren't any visible leaks, so I thought the reason the brake fluid was low was just the need to change the brake pads, etc.
After checking the brake pads and finding that they were in good shape, purging the brake system, and refilling the reservoir, three days later the small section of the reservoir – the one in the back – is almost empty, and I suspect the previous owner cleaned it for the occasion. Now there is some fluid in the area of the master cylinder under the reservoir, but I couldn't figure out yet where the leak is coming from.
I have ordered a set of seals for the master cylinder, but I would like to know where to look before considering replacing the reservoir or the master cylinder itself, as they are quite expensive.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you. _________________ 924 - 79' |

The fluid is in the brake booster. You will see it once you remove the pump and you will need to extract it. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

Most likely seals are shot and thats all you need to do, but you have to inspect it when changing the seals.
Good luck with those seals, i could not find the right ones, they sent me the wrong ones and said thats all that exists and the alternative is a brand new complete master cyl. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

Thanks, fingers crossed! I'll update when I have some news about the seals just in case someone is in the same situation.
PS: Seals ref AUTOFREN SEINSA D1160, they are kind of cheap, especially compared with a new pump... _________________ 924 - 79' |

Update: broken seal in the inner piston of the master cylinder now replaced, let's hope this fixes the leak.
Update 2: problem solved! –thank god–
