Background: failed MOT with high emissions (among several other things). I read that if the WUR doesn't kick in then it runs rich.
Am I correct in the above belief?
I am not getting 12v to the unit, the red/white wire shows earth with or without the ignition being on.
There is the strong probability someone has messed with the wiring in the past.
WUR has resistance of about 21ohms.
Can I attach a connection to the red/white wire to give it 12v when ignition on from another source?
Where does the red/white go back to? Diagram shows it splitting off the fuel pump wiring but I don't know where that physically happens. I believe this circuit is fed from the secondary fuse box, fuse 2. Logically it can't be the fuse as the engine starts and runs.
Any help gratefully appreciated. |

It goes to the white 6-way connector block near the ignition coil, to begin with, where it shares its terminal with the wire for the Aux Air Valve.
It will run very rich without the WUR electrical connection. I've driven with it disconnected before and it takes literally 20+ miles of driving before it will sort itself out from engine heat alone. |

I'm going to start a build of EFI kits in September, that will eliminate the WUR and all your fueling related problems.
If you are interested, have a read on my website. _________________ https://www.the924.com |

Doesn't look like there is 12v coming in to that connector on the red/white wire. I think I will try borrowing 12v ignition and connect it to the red/white. I probably should check the back of the secondary fuse box but I believe that is a pain to access and play with.
Your comment about the WUR fits with my experience, the mpg isn't bad but then it has only been driven on either very long journeys or very short, cold, around town trips. |
