I'm experiencing some issues with my recently acquired 924. It's been jerking during acceleration, regardless of the gear I'm in. The problem goes away when I gently accelerate, and the jerking stops after removing my foot from the gas pedal.

I noticed this issue on a hot day when the temperature was around 35°C (95 °F). I had been using the car for errands all day, and while I wasn't driving aggressively, I may have been a little heavy on the gas at times . When I stopped after the first 'jerking' the temperature was high. I plan to test the car in cooler conditions later today to see if the problem persists.

Here's what I've found during my research:

- Since the jerking occurs during acceleration and not when lifting off the gas, it may not be the clutch, but perhaps something related to the ignition. I'm not completely certain about this conclusion, though.

- The car has a new timing belt that makes some noise at startup, although it goes away after a while. I'm not sure if this could be related to the issue.

- I came across a similar case with a 944 where the problem was associated with the 'ref sensor,' but I'm not familiar with what that is.

- Some sources also mentioned the ignition switch as a potential source of the problem, but I don't fully understand how it could be related to the driving issue.

- Checking the spark plugs has been suggested as another possible solution.

- In the worst-case scenario, it could be related to the clutch or the engine mounts. Or it could be something even more severe.

Any ideas or something that I missed?

If it's a misfire-type jerk:

Check your spark plug wires for the correct resistance (a few kilo ohms)

Check your distributor cap and rotor for any significant damage or corrosion.

Thanks a lot, I will check it all, the truth is the problem didn't appear again, I'm kind of afraid every time that I step on the gas, but everything you pointed out is kind of easy to check/replace.
