Hello everyone, i just bought a 77 924 and am starting the process of getting it presentable. Some highlights of the car that the prior owner did.
1. '85 944 brakes and suspension.
2. GSXR 1000 ITB's. Custom carbon fiber manifold.
3. MSD Ignition.
4. Honda Accord H22 fuel system.
5. Fuel cell.
6. Megasquirt 2.
7. BBS light weight racing wheels.
8. Rebuilt motor with 9.3:1 pistons and ARP/Cosworth hardware.
I actually runs ok. It needs tuned pretty bad, but i can move it whenever need be.
I have a lot of plans for it. Plan is to basically get it race ready for next years race season which is going to take a lot of work.
Right now I'm working on electrical. The battery area was rusted out pretty bad and I've cleaned that up. The bolts for the tie down were sheared or cut off, not sure which. I've cleaned all that up and built some battery tie downs out of 1" aluminum angle and used nutserts from the underside to clamp. It's nice and sturdy. Here's some pics. I'll keep this thread updated as i make progress.
Day i brought it home.

Got the battery area shored up, now on to other things. I can tune with some confidence now.

Cool to see another 924 from my neck of the woods.
Nice the previous owner did the brake/suspension swap, thats a big plus!
What type of racing do you plan to do with it? Something over at Bremerton? _________________ 1980 924 N.A. Monaco Blue owned since 1987

Yeah, thinking I will start with autocross. I've enjoyed it with other cars in the past, but I've always wanted to try road coarse at Pacific Raceways. So we will see. |
