Where would I tap for the boost gauge? Easiest & most simple point?

GN

Yea I would like to know that as well LOL

I posted about installing a boost gauge here:

https://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=44208&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15

My car is a bit different...it's a 1981 car with a 1980 engine/transmission...then the S2 intake/boost pipe (subsequently replaced by intercooler).

I connected my boost gauge to the boost sensing port on the S2 intake.

So not sure what to say for S1 installs.

Pics on the thread above....but here is the specific port.

Gauge indicates boost and vacuum. It's nice to see both.

I have this problem with the Porsch 924 S1 Turbo. Ignition.
I had an aspirated Porsche 924 that still had a transistorized ignition but had an acceptable spark (to the spark plug). The Porsche 924 S1 has an extremely weak spark (barely visible).

I RK the engine, the turbo, new Injector valve, new Ignition lead, new coil, new spark plugs, - the engine is not working properly 100%.

I consider the transistorized ignition (VAG 477905351B) to be the problem (the capacitors in it are over 40 years old and probably no longer reach the operating parameters).

Can it be repaired, replaced with something better?

PS: Today I want to test the whole vacuum system (I may have some air leaks somewhere).

MOTANUL -

Wish I could help you. Yours was built about a year after mine (6/79), and now mine is running like new. Actually blown away about how well it runs and how quickly we got it there - could not have done it w/o the Brain Trust here.

Friend Rick has sweet '85 924 (NA 2.5) that is mechanically almost new, and he cannot keep up with me.

Wish you the best.....

It is normal to go better compared to 924 S or 944 NA. I have a friend in Bucharest with a 944S (16-valve 190 PS / 187 hp).
On paper the 2 cars are very close. At the first opportunity we will be able to compare the cars (924 turbo / 944S).

MY BAD! Typo on my part. Friend Rick's car is 85 944, not 924 - 2.5L NA.

123k miles on it, runs great. I only pull away from him slightly - not much.

I have another good friend who is restoring an '87 924 S, and he should have it on the road by end of summer. We will compare those as well.

Correct! I remembered that the 924 Turbo of America has less HP than its European relative. The cars are very close in this case.
