Old Porsche lover, driver, owner, and mechanic but New to this forum. Been a Porsche guy for years, have '76 914 I restored that runs better than new and looks new from a distance (restoration painter is backlogged a year, but I'm in line), and an '11 Cayman S with ECU remapped to 355+ hp I've had since 2013
- it's so close to the perfect car, will be last late-model Porsche I buy.

I have a full shop with lift and have years of experience restoring tractors, motorcycles and cars.

I've been looking for a 924 Turbo after almost completing my restoration of my 914, and could not believe it when my best Porsche friend (he has 3) found this sweet Limited Edition 924 Turbo in incredible condition for sale. It's been in storage for 17 years and owned since 1986 by present owner - about 58k original miles.

I'll post details about it here once I am the owner.

I do have experience in Bosch FI systems, but that was 30 years ago. First thing is to renew the whole fuel system and I'd love some guidance on that. Hope I can flush tank but may need it renewed by pro shop I've used before. Test pumps, flush lines, etc. New timing belt, liquids, etc.

I'll check back in here with details on car once I'm its owner.

Oh, friends where car is checked it out thoroughly on Wed. nite, and sent me 7 videos of details - this car is in incredible condition.

Glad to know this forum is here for help. The 914 forum, 914world.com, has been an invaluable resource to my restoration of my 914.

Oh, a question for the 931 Brain Trust here:

Can't find much information on Limited Edition/Special Edition 931's. 924.org only lists the Martini and Sebring.

Does someone know where there is more information on the LE/SE versions of the 931 over the years?

To boot, my fav vehicle colors are silver and metallic grey. All my cars, trucks, and several of my motorcycles are this combo, but some also have black too.

Sweet car! Those Pascha door cards are wicked. That's always a cool find.

4 lug brakes mean you've got drums in the rear and use a 4x108 wheel.. I thought most 931s came with the 5-lug option. That might be a nice upgrade for you down the line -- opens up wheel options as well as suspension advancements made as the transaxle cars were refined. Interesting to see that yet also the optional two-tone paint and fancy door cards.. Is this an early (79-80) or late (81-82) car?

I think car was early 80 and they went to 5-lug later in 80.

Kinda sad.....other than 4-lug wheels and no suspension package, car was exactly as I would have ordered it.

Dont worry about posting here in advance.
Three days isnt that much of not responding, especially given the covid situation..but hey you know best.

Regarding the car, it looks like it had is life, front end looks bent in various ways, there is rust on those very rare front fenders...so i'm convinced the car had an accident at one point. Rear end seems like it had work done as well.
In the end i dont think you missed out on a fantastic original car.

Seller had been in contact via text and email multiple times a day - then gone.

His integrity now in serious doubt, but he told me all about each item. Said damage to front was done by others when moved in storage, they drove front into something because they weren't familiar with car. Was in storage 17 years, couple different places. True? Who knows now.

I'm not upset, quite at peace - car wasn't meant for me, I'm moving on. Like you said, who knows what the car was really like.

Hoping to find another one or 924 S, and return back here within the next few months.
